I’ve been married for six years and feel a little silly writing to ask for some advice about my husband but I’m at a loss as to what I can do. His behaviour has started to make me anxious about his fidelity. It’s true we’ve been arguing a lot but we’ve always had an open and honest relationship. We know the passwords to each other’s computers and the pass codes to each other’s phones. We even have each other’s pin numbers for our bank cards. Over the years we’ve never hidden anything from each other but that has changed.
Darren keeps getting calls on his mobile and when we’re sat together at night his phone is always going off. These constant messages and calls are being ignored by him, when I’m in the room at least. I’ve asked him if anything is going on and if he’s still happy with me and he says he is, but it’s out of the ordinary behaviour and I don’t like it.
I know I shouldn’t have done it but he left his phone downstairs when he was in the shower and I decided to have a look through it. I was scared at what I would find but knew if he is seeing someone else then my marriage would be over. It wasn’t possible to access his phone as he’d changed the passcode and I can’t see any reason he would do this. I confronted him about it and he got angry and asked why I was snooping. He said I was invading his privacy and I should trust him. I asked for the new passcode but he refused.
I don’t know how to sort this out and wondered if you did a lie detector test in Grimsby. Will it help if you do? I know he’d take it as the fear of losing our two young children would be too much for him to bear.
