Manchester polygraph test proves affair

The case

A Manchester polygraph test recently proved a wife guilty of cheating on her husband. Joe wanted Fran to take a polygraph test when he discovered a man’s wallet in her car that didn’t belong to him. Here is Joe’s story and the outcome of his case.

The beginning

Joe met Fran back when they were studying law at Manchester University. He was slightly older than Fran after working in finance and wanting a career change. Joe recalls how he loved Fran’s playfulness and confidence. He says that Fran being younger and full of life was a massive attraction to him and what caught his attention. He proposed just a year after meeting Fran and the pair have now been married for four years.

Suspicions start

The issues started when Fran got a new job after lockdown last year. The pandemic meant Fran lost her job with a big law firm. Luckily, Fran found a position as a corporate lawyer in a local family business with immediate start.  The pandemic meant Fran was only in the office for three days and working from home for the remaining two days. Joe was happy he could spend more time with Fran as his company wanted everybody working from home fulltime until the pandemic calmed down. However, only two weeks into her new job Joe noticed Fran kept mentioning the company’s son Harry a lot. Joe assumed that Fran mentioned him a lot because she mostly reported to him and was always complaining that he had an ‘entitled’ attitude.

The evidence

Fran had been working overtime a lot during the first three months of her new job. She often spent four or five days a week in the office rather than her promised three. One Saturday Joe offered to go and do a solo food shop whilst Fran enjoyed a lazy lie in bed. Joe’s car was low on petrol, and he didn’t want to delay going shopping, so he decided to take Fran’s car. When he had finished doing the food shop, he opened the boot ready to load up the bags. However, he noticed a black men’s leather wallet was left in the boot. It didn’t belong to Joe so he was confused as to who’s wallet it could be, he looked inside and found cash along with a credit card that read H Brown – The name of the son who worked with Fran.

What to do?

Joe rang his sister in the car and asked for advice. His sister advised Joe to book a polygraph test for Fran. She explained how when her and her partner had issues, she had taken a lie detector test and couldn’t recommend one enough. The test had stopped the couple arguing and proved who was guilty or not without the drawn-out process of accusing each other. Joe looked at Lie Detector Test UK’s website after her sister sent across our details and decided to book a test for the following week.

The test

Joe told Fran that evening that he had found the wallet and wanted her to take a lie detector test. He explained how he had been feeling suspicious of how much she mentioned Harry. He also said Fran had been withdrawn and he couldn’t help feeling that she was hiding something from him. Fran agreed to take the polygraph test and said she had nothing to hide. However, the next week when she took her test at our Manchester office, the results showed she was lying. Fran confessed to Joe that she had been having an affair with Harry. She said it had been a mistake and she regretted her actions. Fran told Joe she wanted to end it weeks ago and she had argued with Harry which is when he must have left his wallet to cause an issue. Joe said she wanted a break and to go to marriage counselling whilst he decided if he could forgive Fran.
