The behaviour of Nigel Farage has become more curious by the day since he stood down over 300 Brexit Party candidates last month.  We invite him to take a lie detector test to clarify his motivation for doing so.

The decision to stand down the candidates in Conservative held seats was to not split the Conservative vote in the 12 December general election, according to the Brexit Party. It has disappointed several of the Party’s candidates, and many supporters now feel that they have no one to vote for.

Speculation has arisen across the spectrum of media that the Brexit Party was created effectively to ensure that the Labour Party did not gain power.

Boris Johnson’s deal

When Boris Johnson negotiated a new deal with the European Union, Nigel Farage was highly vocal in condemning it.  He suggested the deal, agreed last October, was Brexit in name only (BRINO). The Brexit Party then promised to place a candidate in all constituencies.  Yet around one month later they stood more than half of those candidates down. So if Boris Johnson’s deal is so bad why would Farage support it?

No change in politics

The Party’s slogan is “Change Politics for Good”.  Many disenfranchised voters committed to supporting the Party having spent the last decade voting against parties rather than for them.  However, now the Party is urging voters who don’t have the option of a Brexit Party candidate to vote Conservative.  This could hardly be construed as changing politics for good since two parties have monopolised parliament for decades – Conservative and Labour.

As recently as a few days ago, Nigel Farage said that he wouldn’t trust Boris Johnson, the New Statesman reports. Boris Johnson won’t enter into an alliance with the Brexit Party so it’s even more surprising that Mr Farage appears to trust the Prime Minister. A promise to deliver a Super Canada + type deal and not to extend Brexit beyond December 2020 seems to have convinced Mr Farage. Yet from the 11 November when the promise was made Nigel appears to have changed his mind again.

Latest polls show that despite its initial success in the European Elections the Brexit Party has consistently lost popularity in the polls.  This directly correlates with the standing of candidates down.  Currently they are on 3%. It’s hardly surprising that candidates are confused.

Brexit Party candidates resign

In a further blow to the floundering party, 4 of their prominent MEPs resigned this week.  They included Annunziata Rees-Mogg, sister of Jacob Rees-Mogg, Lucy Harris, John Longworth and Lance Forman. In the video below you can hear why they say they resigned and also their recommendation that people should now vote Conservative. They do this whilst confirming their view that “Boris Johnson’s deal is not perfect”.

Will Nigel Farage accept our invitation?

During the past 12 months we have invited several politicians to take lie detector tests.  So far, none have accepted.  Perhaps Mr Farage will be the first and it might be in his best interests if he accepted before the general election.  We are happy to administer a polygraph test in a place of his choice and free of charge.

Do you mistrust the motives of the Brexit Party? Which questions would you like us to ask Nigel Farage? We would also like to know your views on Boris Johnson’s deal.
