Teacher enquires about a Poole Lie Detector Test for False Allegations

This query for a Poole lie detector test comes from a teacher. She is worried about sexual abuse allegations made against her by a pupil.

Will a lie detector test help me keep my job, following false allegations make against me by one of my pupils?

I am extremely worried that I am going to be charged with sexual abuse against one of my pupils. So far, there has only been a police interview, but I am terrified of being arrested.

In many respects I suppose it’s my fault. Among my many pupils, there is a 14-year-old boy who comes from a deprived background.

During the pandemic he had limited access to the internet and was falling behind. Even if he had full internet access, it would have been difficult for him to study with several younger siblings cramped in a small flat.

The boy deserves a break and so I invited him to my home to use my internet and offered him some personal tuition.  This worked very well for a few weeks, but I recognised at some point that he had a crush on me.  It began with him bringing me flowers which I am sure he stole from the local cemetery. I told him not to bring flowers as I was more interested in him concentrating on his grades.

False allegations of sexual abuse

To cut a long story short, one day he attempted to kiss me. I told him this was highly inappropriate, and that the tuition would have to end. He told me he loved me, and I responded that I had no such feelings for him. He was very upset and rushed out of my house.

Some days later, after I had ignored innumerable telephone calls from him, I got a call from the headmaster. He said the boy’s parents had complained that I had sexually abused their son. They had called the police and subsequently I was asked to go to my local police station and make a statement. This was a week ago.

Poole lie detector test

I would like to know if I can take a lie detector test in Poole.  I am visiting my parents next week and would like to take it in their home. Do you think it will help me to keep my job? I am a single, 38-year-old woman and teaching is my life. I love helping children to achieve their goals and have no idea what I would do if I couldn’t do that anymore.

Response from South West Polygraph Examiner

How dreadful that a simple act of kindness can lead to a terrifying nightmare such as this. However, you can take some small comfort from the fact that you are not alone. Many teachers have been the target of pupils suffering from unrequited love.

Several police forces across the UK are now using the polygraph to monitor certain types of sex offenders and domestic abusers when they are released from prison on licence. It is a useful investigative tool, the results from which may lead to deeper investigation in a case.

If you take your test results to the police, they are highly likely to take them seriously before considering formally charging you. Whether the polygraph report will help you to keep your job, we don’t know.  But if the police do not pursue the matter, you won’t lose it will you? If you are fired based on false allegations you would surely have a claim for unfair dismissal.  Your Union should help you with this.

We can conduct a lie detector test in Poole at your parent’s home, provided there is a quiet room and no interruptions for the duration of the test. A polygraph examination usually takes around 2 hours depending on the complexity of the matter.
