Solihull Lie Detector Test Query related to False Allegations of Theft

This query for a Solihull lie detector test related to false allegations of theft made against an employee early last year. Our West Midlands polygraph examiner answered it.

Q: Can a lie detector test prove my innocence over theft that I have been falsely accused of?

Early last year I was accused of stealing bottles of alcohol from the warehouse I work in. I have never stolen anything from my employer, not even a pen.  It’s possible that the reason I am suspected is because it’s fairly well known that I like a drink.  I work hard and play hard.

Since the accusation, my workmates snub me.  They feel that I should admit what I am alleged to have done because the finger of blame is being pointed at all of them.  Obviously I’m not going to admit to something I haven’t done.

Just before Christmas I was called into the manager’s office and given an official warning.  I was told that if any more booze went missing I would be fired. That doesn’t bother me because I know they can’t fire me without evidence.  But it isn’t me who is taking it. If the thief takes any more, I’m going to be held responsible for it.

I’m frustrated and angry that my workmates and boss would believe this of me.  I’ve been considering taking a lie detector test in Solihull. Will it help to prove I am innocent?

W. B., Solihull

Response from West Midlands Polygraph Examiner

There are few things worse than being falsely accused at work, especially when colleagues ostracise you.  I can understand your anger and frustration.

The short answer to your question is that a polygraph examination will help to prove your innocence. What it won’t do is identify the real thief.

When you have taken the Solihull lie detector test, after you have shown the results to your boss, you might suggest he includes a polygraph clause in future and renewed employment contracts.  Periodic lie detector tests go a long way to preventing theft in the workplace. They also make employees feel more secure because there is no long term suspicion developed, as has happened in your case. The tests are done and the culprit found quickly.
