Where we test

One office in Oxford.

Every examination happens in a private, controlled room booked for you alone — never a home, never a hotel lobby. Put the postcode into your satnav; on the business parks it is the building number that matters.

Booking in Oxford

The same accredited standard, in Oxford itself.

Oxford has one controlled examination room of its own, in Oxford Science Park. Every one runs to the same standard as the rest of the network — the same accredited examiners, the same confidentiality, and the same seven examinations, whether the reason is a workplace investigation or a private question at home.

Before you book

The result goes to whoever booked the test, and to nobody else without their written say-so. If you are not sure a test is the right next step, the free consultation before you book will tell you plainly — including when the answer is no.

What we test for

Services we provide in Oxford.

The same examinations, run to the same standard, at every office in the UK — whichever of these brought you here, it works exactly the same way in Oxford as anywhere else.

Client reviews

What people say afterwards.

Independent Trustpilot and Google reviews. A review never records which office the examination was at, so these are clients from across the UK rather than from Oxford alone — it is the same examination and the same examiners wherever it happens.

Implementing Lie Detector Test UK in our recruitment process was a great experience. It helps us assess candidates beyond their resumes. The process is efficient, and the results are reliable. Happy to hire!
Arya Saunders · Trustpilot
From start to finish, my experience has been fantastic. They answered all my questions before, during and after. They were very accommodating and professional. The examiner was understanding and made me feel at ease from the very start. I was given the result as soon as the test was over and then a full report was sent to me with in hours. Highly recommend. Thanks guys.
Zoe Allen · Google

Their free consultation was excellent, more than just a sales pitch. I eventually booked a test and it helped us to resolve a long running dispute over money in my family. They did a good job and were careful not to make it an upsetting experience for anyone in my family. Really pleased with the job they did.

I just love the way Buks helped me manage all the formalities and made sure that I followed every step while detecting the dirty lies of one of our senior employees! Commendable service.

Excellent service and brilliant value for money, situation resolved very quickly with very quick results. Extremely pleased with the service of this company, very understanding and explained everything about the test in great detail. Thank you very much
Kristy Holmes · Trustpilot
The office in Coventry, which is open on weekends, was very professional. Although I expected the process to take just 30 minutes, it ended up lasting nearly 2 hours, proving how thorough it was. The man who helped me was extremely kind, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a £50 discount, paying £450, even though it was after hours.
Holly Elliott · Trustpilot
Impressive technology! This lie detector test provides a clear-cut result and clears the doubt within a minute.

Asked in Oxford

The questions that come up here.

If yours is not below, the free helpline will answer it — including when the answer is that a test is not the right thing for your situation.

Will a college or the university be told?

No. Nothing goes to a college, a university, an employer or anybody else without your written permission — worth saying plainly in this city.

Where is the office?

The Science Park, south of the city off the ring road, with parking on site. Easier by car than anything inside the ring road.

Do you cover Oxfordshire?

Yes — Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester and Witney, at the same £495 with no travel charge.

Can you come to my home in Oxford?

No. Your examination in Oxford is held at John Eccles House, John Eccles House, Robert Robinson Avenue, Oxford Science Park, which is booked for your appointment and nobody else's. A polygraph measures small physiological changes over a couple of hours, and it needs a quiet, private room with no interruptions to do it — a doorbell, a neighbour through the wall or a family member in the next room is not a neutral setting, and it is not one we can guarantee in somebody's house. Our examinations take place in a dedicated, private setting designed for polygraph testing, which is what gives the controlled conditions and the confidentiality the examination depends on. If getting to an office is genuinely difficult, call the helpline on 0800 861 1058 before you book and we will talk through what is possible.

Does it cost more to test in Oxford?

No. It is £495 all-inclusive for one person wherever you book in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, including Oxford — the price does not change with distance. Scotland is the one exception, priced separately.

Why is the booking fee non-refundable?

Because the work starts before you arrive. An examiner reviews your case, agrees the questions with you in advance and prepares the examination — and the slot is held for you and nobody else. That is also why booking waives the 14-day cooling-off period, which is set out in the terms and conditions. If you are unsure whether a test is the right step, call before you book rather than after.

How many questions can be asked?

Up to 4 specific-issue questions, alongside the profiling questions the format requires. Each is repeated at least three times during the test, because consistency across repetitions is what makes the result readable.

Does it hurt?

No. The blood pressure cuff stays inflated during the test and can feel tight — about like having your blood pressure taken at a surgery. Nothing else is felt at all.

What if someone tries to beat the test?

Countermeasures were a real problem with older equipment. Modern instrumentation records the attempts themselves — deliberate movement, controlled breathing, pressure applied out of sight — and a trained examiner sees them in the data. An attempt to distort the test is itself a finding.

When do I get the results?

A full written report reaches you by email within 24 hours of the examination, or within 48 hours by tracked post if you prefer that. Every report is checked and verified by a second examiner, so what you receive is a qualified opinion rather than one person's reading.

What happens if I don't book an examination date within 30 days?

Your examination date needs to be agreed within 30 days of the original booking date. If it is not, we may close the booking and the £125 booking fee stays non-refundable — clause 3.15 of the terms and conditions has the exact wording. If your circumstances change, call the helpline before the 30 days runs out rather than after.

Can I change my appointment date?

Yes, with at least 48 hours' notice, and the new date has to fall within 30 days of the original booking date — see clause 3.9 of the terms and conditions. Call the helpline to make the change; it is time-sensitive, so a call gets it done faster than email.

What happens if I miss the pre-examination questionnaire deadline?

You have 24 hours from booking to return it, by text or SMS link. Miss that window and we reserve the right to cancel the appointment — clause 3.5 of the terms and conditions sets it out. If you need more time, call the helpline before the 24 hours is up rather than after.

What if the result isn't what I expected?

It stands either way — No Deception Indicated, Deception Indicated or Inconclusive — and no refund is due once the test has been carried out and the report provided, regardless of the outcome. Clause 3.12 of the terms and conditions sets it out. If you are unsure whether a test is the right step, the free consultation before you book is the place to ask.
