Infidelity in the medical profession has to be handled sensitively and discreetly.  Our Exeter Polygraph Examiner explains to a GP’s husband that discretion is part of our strict code of ethics.

Q: Can you find out discreetly if my GP wife is having an affair?

I’m writing to you as I really don’t know where else to turn. It’s a bit of a touchy subject both professionally and personally. My wife is a GP at the local medical centre and she’s started to be away from home a lot more than she used to. She’s always had to attend conferences occasionally but now they seem to be every other week. Some of them have ended up with her staying away over the weekend.

Previously when she went on meetings that took her away from home, she’d usually take a suit and a pair of pyjamas. She’d always eat in her room and be home as soon as she could get away from the “bores” as she used to call them.  However, recently, she’s been taking evening dresses and her best heels. I even noticed some sexy lingerie the last time she went. When I questioned her about it, she said they made her feel good under her suit and helped her get through a mundane few days.

Our relationship has also changed. She doesn’t show me much affection anymore and I can’t remember the last time there was any physical contact between us. I love my wife and even if she is cheating I’d like to see if we can work through it rather than throw away 15 years of marriage and possibly her career (depending on who it’s with).  How discreet is your Exeter polygraph examiner?  Do you think a lie detector test could help us if she is having an affair?  You can understand that this is a highly sensitive matter.

Response from Exeter Polygraph Examiner

Firstly I’d like to assure you that all polygraph examiners at Lie Detector Test UK are bound by the APA (American Polygraph Association) code of conduct.  An integral part of what we do is discretion. We will never divulge details of your case to anyone unless you give us permission to do so.

Infidelity in the medical profession

It may surprise you that women in the medical profession top the career list for infidelity.  This data became available last year from Ashley Maddison (a website dedicated to married people seeking affairs). 23 percent of participants in their survey were female doctors and nurses. It’s considered that the reason for this is a combination of long hours and stress.

This doesn’t surprise me as an Exeter polygraph examiner.  Much of my time in the Southwest is spent testing subjects for infidelity often in medical or military professions.  Not knowing where to turn when professional codes of ethics are involved is not unusual.  However, if your wife is being unfaithful to you, it’s not necessarily going to be with a patient.  Many medical professionals have affairs with their colleagues or professional they meet at conferences.
